Android Pay™ and Samsung Pay Now Available

March 17, 2016 – Delray Beach, FL:
Android Pay™ and Samsung Pay Now Available for IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit Union Members

IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit Union announced today that they will be adding Android Pay and Samsung Pay to their digital wallet portfolio April 19th, 2016.

Michael Miller, CEO of IBMSECU, stated that privacy and security is a priority when it comes to technology and payments. “Adding Android Pay and Samsung Pay will allow Members to pay for items from their mobile device in a secure, fast and private way.”

Android Pay works with Android phones running KitKat 4.4+. Paying in stores is as simple as holding a mobile device to a contactless reader. The Member’s card number is never shared with stores. Every card used with Android Pay is assigned a virtual card number, which is then used to process the payment. To get started, users download the Android Pay app and add their card numbers. Upon completion, users can pay confidently at over one million locations in the U.S. as well as within apps where Android Pay is presented as a payment option.

Samsung Pay can be used on the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S7, S6 or S7 Edge or Galaxy Note 5. It is available virtually anywhere cards are swiped. For most Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge users, Samsung Pay will either be installed during a system update or preinstalled on the device. Once card numbers are entered, accounts are secured with fingerprints and backup PINs. Thereafter, a user can simply swipe up to launch the app, secure the transaction with a fingerprint and hover the device over the card reader to complete the payment.

“At IBMSECU, we take extreme pride in offering innovative payment options as well as staying on the forefront of technology. Having a variety of digital payment options available to our cardholders is very important to us. When Members asked for Android Pay and Samsung Pay, we listened. Serving our Members is what matters most,” said Nicole Heffelfinger, Vice President of Operations at IBMSECU.

Android Pay and Samsung Pay are easy to use, easy to set-up and are both highly secure. Merchants will never see names, card numbers or card security codes. And IBMSECU Members will continue to receive the same great credit and debit card benefits. Each transaction uses a random token instead of an actual card number, which means card information isn’t shared while shopping and your details remain safe. Your purchase information always stays private.
