Local Credit Union Gives $5,000 to CUAid and $5,000 to the American Red Cross
The $1.09 billion IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit (IBMSECU) will donate $10,000 to assist victims from Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana.
Earlier this week, when the National Credit Union Foundation activated CUaid and made a call-out for donations to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, IBMSECU rose up and took action. Today, IBMSECU announced that they would donate $5,000 to CUaid and another $5,000 to the American Red Cross to help their neighbors who were devastated by the historic storm. A portion of those monies was donated by IBMSECU employees.
Michael Miller, President and CEO at IBMSECU stated, “Coming together to help other credit unions and their members is extremely important to us. We are all about ‘People Helping People’ and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey.”
The National Credit Union Foundation’s CUAid.coop website is open to receive individual contributions or donations to assist credit union people affected by Harvey. You can also donate online directly to the American Red Cross.
