Effective today, March 2, 2020, IBM Southeast Employees' Credit Union is now iTHINK Financial Credit Union.
They are the same credit union, with the same great people helping their members, only with a new name and a renewed commitment to their members and the communities they serve. They did not make this change hastily; after all, IBM was their name for over 50 years.
How did they come up with their new name, iTHINK Financial? Well, the information they needed came from their members. They spent over a year studying research and surveying members to find out how they’re different than other financial institutions. They help members improve lives through their financial knowledge, products, and services. They discovered that members felt more confident in making important financial decisions.
They chose the name for the following reasons:
- "Think" is a slogan that was used by IBM, whose employees started their credit union in 1969.
- The “i” represents the member, who is at the beginning of everything they do.
iTHINK Financial explains what they do best: helping members make better banking decisions while guiding them to achieve financial milestones. Those goals are represented by the checkmark found in their logo. They are also part of their renewed promise of “moving you forward.”
